WHAT TO EXPECT

Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.

Jaguar Land Rover has made a major investment in new powertrain testing capability to ensure future powertrain development can take place and meet the business requirement to deliver new and exciting products. The Powertrain Test Cells is part of the Powertrain Test Operations (PTTO) and Product Development, and the team maintains productive workflow from the PTTO test facilities. This workflow includes engine build, powertrain preparation, vehicle workshop, and engine dynamometer and rig test capability.

As an Emissions Analytical Technician, you’ll operate across the facility conducting activities to ensure that the department provides the capability to make quality measurements and deliver tests to fulfil customer requests.  You’ll be responsible for providing and maintaining common processes, and for ensuring that equipment is available to maintain productive capability. The main activities you’ll be involved in require strong technical ability as well as critical and analytical reasoning, robust planning, coordination and control of your own workload.

Prior to this job, you’ll be required to undertake mandatory training for 3-6 months at supplier facilities in Europe and be required to work on a shift system within a facility that runs 24/7.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have an indentured apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 vocational qualification in mechanical or motor vehicle engineering with electrical or electronics experience. You’ll also need Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in English, Maths and Science and demonstrable relevant technical experience with the ability to validate, prepare and read flow and electrical diagrams. Ideally, you’ll have experience in the calibration, maintenance and repair of measurement equipment with strong, practical skills and good manual dexterity.

In addition, you’ll be a natural problem-solver with strong communication skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the business. You should also combine the ability to plan and coordinate your own workload with strong IT skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
