Web Infrastructure Strategist - Core Athena

Job description

Athena is a cross-asset platform transforming technology at JP Morgan. It delivers innovative and efficient applications to a wide range of firm's business, including sales, trading, operations, risk and research. Athena combines the best of open source technologies with innovative components developed internally, which gives a potential candidate ability to contribute to wide range of exciting projects. Our developers enjoy working with front office, quants and other technology teams.

We are looking for hands-on developers who enjoy solving challenging technical problems. The ideal candidate should have strong computer science foundations and be able to work across different platforms and languages. Candidates should be inspired by working in a collaborative, fast-changing environment with a high degree of code sharing and reuse. Focus on innovations and quality of solutions should be demonstrated by their contributions in previous professional roles or projects (either academic or personal).

Depending on background and experience a candidate will be working in one of the following areas:

Applications
Athena applications team provides UI and data transformation components for building business applications. The team works on data visualisation, data manipulation, deal entry, workflow and market‑making/pricing.

Embedded
Embedded team builds applications, solving specific business problems, using the Athena platform. They are present in FX, Rates, Commodities, Credit, Equities and Investor Services.

Kernel
Kernel develops the backbone of the Athena platform. They work on an in-house NoSQL database, communication frameworks, distributing computations, domain specific languages and developer tooling.

Reactive
Reactive team looks after a proprietary language for electronic trading and real-time market data. The team also works with businesses delivering automated trading solutions.

Infrastructure
The infrastructure team builds scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions to support Athena across businesses.

Qualifications

Successful candidate should have solid experience with at least one of the following:
