Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of
products and services, and partnering with all lines of business (LOB) to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional
project execution, and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective

GTI Service Operations (SO) is responsible for service support and delivery for JPMorgan Chase's (JPMC) Global
Technology Infrastructure. Through its Global Service Desk and Infrastructure Operations Centers, SO provides global,
coordinated diagnostic and support services, while it’s Production Assurance and Support functions leverage and
execute industry leading infrastructure management and support processes that are designed to minimize customer
outages and impacts.
Responsibilities:
- As a member of Unix System Administrator team, you will be providing IaaS Unix SA support managed
- Respond and resolve Unix escalations and request for technical assistance
- Be present and fully engaged on any Priority one with a severity of 1 or 2 (P1S1, P1S2)
- 24/7 customer support and service delivery experience with creative problem solving.
- Ability to work under pressure and develop strong client relationships.
- Performance metrics & reporting, Change management, Incident Management experience.
- Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with the application development team and
Operate teams to make corrections and mitigate risks
- Liaise with other Core Engineers in troubleshooting complex, cross-platform issues
- Writing scripts in Perl, Python to automate the provisioning, monitoring and maintenance of systems in a distributed,
enterprise environment.
- Working closely with engineering and operational teams to identify automation opportunities and solutions to current
manual work practices.
- Developing and promoting standard operating procedures and creating processes and tooling for operation efficiency.
- Exploring new technologies to optimize the delivery and reliability of automation.
- Review and improve documentation supplied by L3 team to train and help other L2 teams as well as Patching team and
build teams.
- Ensure all documentation is tested and rigorously up to date.
- Significant prior Unix Systems Administration experience in a complex distributed technical environment
- Experience in RedHat Enterprise 4.x, 5.x, 6, 7
- Experience in Sun Solaris 10, 11
- Clustering experience, preferably with VERITAS and Linux
- Extensive, proven experience in a production environment with high level of expectations.
- Scripting experience with Perl, Python, awk, sed, Shell script (Bourne, C, Korn)
- Technically proficient in server hardware/software, network and storage technologies [EMC, Hitachi]
- Experience with managing DB env like Sybase / Oracle ASM
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking - ability to use and understand output of tcpdump/snoop technology
- Administration of Unix core services and applications such as NIS, NFS, automount, DNS, DHCP, Samba, SendMail,
Apache, NTP, sudo, Jumpstart/Kickstart, LDAP, SSH
- Experience with deploying and administering distributed platform Operating systems (Standard & Enterprise if
applicable).
- Understanding of security best practices for multi-tiered operating systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Tivoli, SunMC, HPSim.
- Familiarity with scripting & automation tools. Should be able to support / troubleshoot issues with scripts.
- ITIL Process experience - Incident Management, Change Management & Problem Management required.
- Must be well-organized, responsible, self-driven & have good verbal and written communication skills and able to
multitask in dynamic support environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in direct internal and external customer relationship
management.
