Job description

As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.

 

We are looking for an experienced & proactive Web Application developer who is passionate about working with end users to build elegant Web Applications with a strong focus on usability.  The initial deliverables will be associated with building a Web Application for Business and Support users to review and control the execution of large Price and Risk compute for the Equity Derivatives Business, with follow on deliverables relating to displaying the results of the Price and Risk compute.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

· 
Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

· 
Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 

· 
Working proficiency in developmental toolsets

· 
Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

· 
Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages: JavaScript, Angular, React

· 
Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

· 
Experience in front end Web Application development in JavaScript, for which the candidate will be familiar with the full range of current and emerging UI frameworks and libraries, with a practical view as to when, why and how to use them.

· 
Experience of building web applications that:

· 
Continuously update, e.g. via WebSockets or similar push based technologies

· 
Seamlessly integrates data from many underlying services, but presents an integrated view to end users

· 
Supports different views & features depending on user entitlements

· 
Are implemented to be highly-available and horizontally scalable

· 
Experience with development, deployment and maintenance of business critical Enterprise Applications.
