Job description

GTI Service Operations (SO) is responsible for service support and delivery for JPMorgan Chase"s Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI). GTI SO provides global, coordinated diagnostic and support services, while Production Assurance and Support functions leverage and execute industry-leading infrastructure management and support processes that are designed to minimize customer outages and impacts. Responsibilities: ·Responsible for maintaining the Top 150 servers ·Resolution of production incidents, root cause analysis of incidents ·Performing health checks to ensure production readiness ·Troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical issues Design and build new Linux and Solaris systems in conjunction with Build team ·Participating in the day to day progression of project work ·Ensuring documentation is available and up to date ·Ability to automate repetitive tasks by utilizing KSH/Perl scripts ·Proactively develop and suggest process improvements that can be applied globally ·Working closely with multiple stakeholders to coordinate BCP and Data Centre power down events ·Providing on-call/weekend support based on a weekly rota, working outside core business hours when required ·Monitoring change and external influences (market conditions) ·Ensure patching (is current, relevant and automated) ·Driving standards across Trading/Markets estate ·Enhance and drive hardware lifecycle ·Ensuring monitoring working and appropriate ·Data integrity (back-ups SAN NAS) ·Provide Application solutions (DR, HA, Developing applications) ·Deal with the emergence of new technologies and business requirements ·Deployment of the correct architectures and solutions to trading applications ·Work with Vendors for problem resolution and new product socialization ·Proactive mind set ·Interpret and act on capacity management figures. responsible for applications that Monitor ·Resolving application related problems ·Escalating non resolved problems to engineering and management ·Capacity planning ·Proactive monitoring and problem prediction/prevention

Desired profile

QualificationsTechnical Experience: ·Solaris 10 and previous ·Red Hat RHEL 6.2 and previous ·VCS cluster ·VMware ·Net Backup ·Oracle 10i ·UNIX shell scripting language ·Good working knowledge of monitoring systems such as Nagios and Ganglia Infrastructure: ·Storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Tape backup) Desirable Business Knowledge: ·Understanding and knowledge of regional trading venues ·Awareness of market influences ·Understanding of Markets ·Business regulations (SEC, FSA, Basal III, etc) The ideal candidate will have experience on: ·Advanced Knowledge of Red Hat Linux 4.0 & 5.0. ·Advanced Knowledge of Solaris 8, 9, 10. ·Advanced Knowledge of AIX 5.x & 6.1. ·Advanced Knowledge of VMware ESX Server 3.x. ·Advanced Knowledge of NIS, Mail Server. ·Advanced Knowledge of File System Architecture. ·Good Understanding for kernel tunning. ·Hands on experience for backup server/client Configurations. ·Good Understanding of patch updates & rebuilds concepts. ·Good Understanding for Server health check & performance monitoring. ·Candidates should be able to understand scripting concepts (bash, Perl). ·Certified Candidates (RHCE/SCSA or RHCT) will consider on priority. ·Advanced hardware knowledge on HP/Compaq/DELL/IBM systems ·Experience Must have worked in a similar position in an investment bank or similar ·Experience of supporting business critical applications. ·Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical issues. ·Self-starter with ability to acquire new skills autonomously ·Willingness and ability to lead a team in a demanding environment ·Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills to drive problems to successful conclusion ·Provide coaching and receive assistance when required ·Ability to remain calm and effective in high pressure outage situations. ·Strong focus on delivery of quality services to schedule ·Ability to translate business requirements and develop solutions ·Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal clients
