Our team:
The Securites Based Lending group is a centre of excellence for underwriting loans that are fully secured by marketable securities, covering over 60% of IPB client’s credit facilities. The role involves analysing, negotiating, pricing and documenting standard lines of credit, including standby letters of credit, with a target turnaround of 48 hours. The team will also review other transactions that have an element of credit risk (including OTC and Exchange Traded derivatives).
Key Responsibilities:
· Build strong relationships with internal partners including Bankers, Investors, Lending Solutions and Credit Executives as well as other SBL & Credit Operations’ global colleagues.
· Work with colleagues on global & local initiatives and projects; those relevant to the Geneva site and the Credit business
· Review and renew lines of credit for our clients whilst ensuring adherence to policy, tax and cross border implications are considered, appropriate KYC and accurate creation of credit documentation
· Work with the team on potential credit issues. Proactively resolve exceptions, including margin shortfalls, past due principal/interest and documentation exceptions.
· Articulate the risk vs. reward proposition when negotiating loan rates, employing a discipline around loan pricing and structure.
· Review and create credit memos to ensure clarity of the proposed credit structure including accurate risk rating assessments and any notable risk issues e.g. collateral concentrations.
· Partner Client Services and other colleagues to ensure closure of all relevant open items and transactional issues
· Manage all new credit requests and annual reviews to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion.
Skills Required:
· A Business, Finance or Mathematics bachelor’s degree/qualification.
· Credit risk and/or lending experience.
· Knowledge and/or experience of underwriting, lending value analysis, return on equity assessment, KYC, cross border validation.
· Clear understanding of financial markets and securities industry
· Knowledge and experience of systems such as Bloomberg is advantageous.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Good organizational skills.
· Ability to work well in an integrated team environment.
· Track record in working with teams from various markets /countries
· Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
· Additional language skills would be an asset.
