Java Automation Tester

Job description

This role is to work in Investment Bank Technology as an expert QA Automation engineer, based in Mumbai, to work on exciting platform build. Candidates will be expected to be best of breed Individual Contributors; possess strong inter-personal skills, as well as proven track record of delivery in Quality Assurance with technical skills in core java and a RDBMS. The day to day activities of the role will encompass the full project lifecycle, including:· Understand the business requirements and create test strategy, test plans & detailed test scenarios to test the business requirements. · Perform system testing of new applications and software enhancements to existing applications and ensure they meet design specifications. · Develop automated tests using JBehave & Selenium early in development cycle so that defects are caught and addressed in a timely manner. · To assist in Regression Testing of new applications and existing software enhancements to identify any possible impacts caused by changes. · Liaise with production Owners and development team to explain the defects and priorities of the defects. · Proactively participate in peer reviews either as reviewer or an author being reviewed with the aim to enhance own or team member's work and standards.Essential: · Excellent Core Java with Java 7 · Source code control software (e.g. Clearcase, subversion, GIT), · Java Frameworks i.e. Spring; iBATIS/Hibernate; JAXB/XStream · RDBMS experience preferably Oracle, Sybase ASE or MSSQL including stored procedures · Minimum 2 years of experience in java development.Desirable (but not essential): · Agile philosophy · UNIX shell scripting (1 year +) · MQ/JMS · Jenkins · MavenPerson Specification: · Demonstrate Continual Improvement in terms of Individual Performance · Strong communication skills in English · Bright and enthusiastic, self starter · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills · Outstanding presentation skills
