Private Equity Due Diligence – Associate

The Private Equity Due Diligence Group sits within GWM Managed Solutions and Strategies which encompasses the discretionary investment offerings for clients, including multi-asset and single asset-class strategies as well as our manager selection platforms. The Private Equity Due Diligence team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and monitoring private investment funds across buyout, growth equity, real estate and private credit funds for inclusion in private client portfolios across the global client franchise. With over $42 billion in total commitments since 2000, the Private Equity Due Diligence team uses a "best-of-breed" approach to source investment opportunities across its broad platform. A disciplined open architecture selection process enables the group to offer private clients high quality investment opportunities.
This candidate will be responsible to:
· Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge relating to the private equity, private credit and real estate private market industries
· Participate in meetings with fund managers to help screen their potential for inclusion in the Private Bank"s platform.
· Perform in-depth due diligence on private equity and real estate funds with an emphasis on quantitative analysis of manager track records, understanding the sources of value creation and comparing the manager"s investment performance to industry benchmarks.
· Prepare and maintain manager commentary and analysis relating to the performance of individual funds
· Assist with the due diligence of co-investment and direct opportunities
· Help maintain detailed monitoring records post-investment including hosting and documenting regular update calls/meetings with fund managers, attending fund annual meetings and onsite visits.
· Participate in and contribute to meetings with Private Bank clients
Desired profile
Requirements:
· Undergraduate degree with a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.2
· 1-3 years work experience in investment banking, private equity, or private investment fund of fund research
· Experience with building and analyzing financial models
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
