Job Summary
· Manage Environment Deployments, Co-ordinations and Scheduling of Releases across the Originations for multiple applications
· Releases will follow Release Management Lifecycle inclusive of Application Updates, Operating System Patches, Security Environment, Certificate Renewal, Hardware Upgrades
· The Release Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes
· The Release Engineer job function works collaboratively with all participants in Origination projects and is supportive of developers and QA as they setup their environments
· The Release Engineer responsibilities also include building and maintain IT Release ATC Calendar in working closely with Project Mangers across Originations and centralizing view of all releases
· Release engineer is responsible for generating weekly reports of Scheduled Releases and generating Matrix for all upcoming Release events
Role and responsibilities
· Advance plan the release windows and cycles across Origination
· Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
· Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time
· Communicate all key release plans, commitments and changes including vendor applications, schedule and scope changes
· Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams and locations
· Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
· Weekly Release Reporting
· Communicate Release Details and Schedules with Business, Project Managers, QA and UAT team
· Maintains the release schedule for all core applications and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors
· Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
· Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the Deployment plans and checklists
· Creating ITSM using the plan provided by AD Team for deployments.
· Able to work on Flexible/Extended hours
SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Considerable knowledge of change and release management principles, procedures and techniques
· Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to think and solve problems creatively
· Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with others
· Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
· Ability to respond to requests under tight deadlines in a dynamic working environment
· Demonstrated understanding of source code management concepts and/or software development lifecycles
· Proficient analytic, organization, and communication skills
Desired profile
Qualification
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
· 2-5 years of previous release engineer experience
· Advanced knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
· Advanced written and verbal communication skills are must
· Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, working knowledge of Access
· Working experience in Agile or Waterfall business model
· Ability to learn and work with cutting edge timeline
· Ability to work in team environment and independently
