Job description

This group provides assistance to mortgagors in default while mitigating loss for the investor. The staff members will interact with the Customer Assistant Specialist and investors. Will interact with QA as needed. The Underwriters will review and analyze customer financial documentation and propose solutions to assist customers in retaining homeownership.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

·  Review and analyze highly complex borrower documentation to determine income and repayment ability, assess borrower hardship, analyze housing expenses, identify any potential fraud and determine proper loan resolution. These complex transactions require use of specialized systems, processing, and contractual requirements.
·  Review the recommended foreclosure prevention alternative offered to the homeowner to ensure all investor/insurer guidelines were followed.
·  Ensuring that loan requests meet program and product specifications or communicate to the Customer Assistant Specialist necessary information.
·  Analyze delinquency, perform escrow analysis, analyze modification scenarios and proposals and recommend appropriate loan workout.
·  Maintain responsibility for timely and accurate database maintenance as well as updates and corrections in all related systems.
·  Obtain all third party approvals including investor and mortgage insurance company approvals.
·  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant default practices effecting loan servicing decisions. Interacts with QA dept to ensure timely resolution so customer is not adversely impacted.

Desired profile

Knowledge and Experience

·  Minimum of 2 years mortgage experience preferred.
·  Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis and an expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis, including both cash flow and AGI methods required.
·  High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree and or equivalent work experience preferred.
