As a full-stack developer reporting to the Head of Data Engineering for Intelligent Solutions, you will be charged with creating next-generation Big Data management frameworks and backend services that will revolutionize how the firm interacts with, catalogs, analyzes and provisions its data assets. The ideal candidate for this position is results-driven with exceptional knowledge of the software development life cycle, especially in the analysis of software design, code development and its application to testing. The candidates for this role must be willing to push the limits of traditional development paradigms typically found in a data-centric organization while embracing the opportunity to gain subject matter expertise in a variety of data assets ranging from financial to digital/mobile.

Responsibilities
· Build and implement front-end web applications and back-end services that integrate with other products.
· Interact with clients both within JPMIS and across the firm (including counterparts in Retail & Wholesale Banking, Risk, Digital/Mobile)

· Validate requirements and system design

· Automate and streamline existing processes, procedures, and toolsets

· Ensure code paths are unit tested and defect free

· Participate in full integration testing

· Rapidly address issues and fix defects discovered during deployment

Desired profile

·  Strong Java, Python, Ruby and/or other functional programming skills
·  Experience with JavaScript web application frameworks (e.g., Angular, jQuery, Backbone or Ember)
·  2-3 years of solid system development experience leveraging a variety of the following technologies:
·  Web Development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, XML
·  J2EE Technologies: JSP / Servlets, EJB3, JMS, JDBC, JMX, JMS
·  Web Services: SOA, XML, XSL, SOAP, REST, Spring MVC, Spring Boot
·  Application Development: Python, Java, Ruby
·  Application Design: Model-View-Controller (MVC), Object Oriented, RESTful services / APIs
·  Data-Layer Development: MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
·  Hadoop: HDFS, Hive, Spark, HBase, Impala, Apex
·  Sound understanding of continuous integration & continuous deployment environments
·  Proven proficiency with XML, Tomcat/JBoss, Apache, Web Services, SOA and other distributed technologies and architectures
·  Solid understanding of application program interfaces (APIs), messaging software and interoperability techniques and standards
·  Knowledge of SQL and ETL concepts is a plus
·  Strong analytical skills with a passion for testing
·  Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
·  Team collaboration maintaining exceptional code, architecture and documentation
·  Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation
·  History of open source contribution is a plus
·  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree is a plus
