The Mortgage Specialist unit is a centre of excellence delivering customized, complex mortgage lending solutions to Ultra High Net Worth and High Net Worth clients in Asia. This role works with Capital Advisors, Bankers, Investors, Wealth Advisors and Credit Executives to deliver best in class service to our clients on this credit specialty product. The primary focus of the Mortgage Advisor will be to originate loans to meet our Wealth Management objectives in Asia. The activities, among others, include structuring of loans, working closely with stakeholders, bankers and partners, participating in credit discussions, coordinating internal credit processes and providing industry and client knowledge to the Bank and all relevant partners. The Mortgage Advisor also should have the ability to structure mortgage solutions for clients with complex balance sheets and cash flows, and provide tailored structures to meet client's needs and within the Bank's risk parameters. Additionally, the Asia Mortgage team also partners with colleagues in the U.S. and U.K. to underwrite mortgages in those jurisdictions. This role will also have primary responsibility for renewals of Hong Kong and Singapore mortgages, which includes acquiring all necessary information such as client financial statements, updated property valuations and proof of insurance to process the renewals in a timely manner. Technical Skills and Industry Knowledge Good understanding of the high net worth and ultra-high net worth client profile and of the mortgage industry and its product offerings. Knowledge of residential real estate regulations and compliance issues for Hong Kong and Singapore. Ability to analyze client"s balance sheet, cash flow, risk tolerance and financial objectives to ensure the client"s needs are met and the loan structure falls within the Firm"s risk parameters. Client and Interpersonal Skills Ability to partner with Capital Advisors, Bankers, Investors, Wealth Advisors and Credit Executives to create an outstanding client experience. Excellent communication skills required for both in person and by phone meetings with clients and all parties related to the mortgage transaction. Consensus and relationship building skills necessary to operate as a mortgage solution expert on the WM integrated client teams. Self motivator and ability to break through barriers to facilitate change. Attention to detail required to coordinate with many groups, adhere to multiple jurisdictional issues, and follow through on loan closings and draw downs. Key Responsibilities Structure new mortgage opportunities and lead deal discussions. Coordinate internal credit approval process, effectively functioning as the bridge between the credit underwriting/approver and internal support teams (documentation, appraisal services), the client and the integrated team members. Participate in banking team meetings to train integrated team members, and in client meetings to discuss mortgage solutions.
Desired profile
·Minimum 3 to 5 years Residential Real Estate Mortgage Credit and Lending experience, including loan credit and cash flow analysis and credit structuring experience from financial institution. ·Bachelor's degree in financial or related field, from an accredited, high quality institution.
