About the role

The Athena Program is JPMorgan's innovative and highly visible multi-asset trade capture and risk management application. Being central to the Investment Bank's trading and settlement workflow, this system demands the highest quality technology participation and solutions delivery. We are seeking a Developer to deliver excellent quality Python-based solutions in a fast-paced environment, and work collaboratively in conjunction with CIB Business units (including Front, Middle and Back Offices) and Operate Technology teams.

Responsibilities

As a Developer within the Athena AD team, the successful candidate will:

- Design, implement and coordinate the delivery of high quality, resilient solutions for day-to-day needs of the FX business

- Be proactive, independent, and a self-starter with strong business-facing communication skills; understand and deliver both technical and user-centered requirements

- Develop mostly in Python using in-house built Python framework

- Be a core part of the Athena team providing timely delivery of reliable, enhanced functionality to the FX business.

Desired profile

The JPMorgan Athena technology area is looking for smart developers with strong computer science fundamentals and a track record of delivery, whether in previous professional roles, university or personal projects (for instance, open source software contributions). We require very strong development skills across multiple platforms. The team works mostly in Python, so experience in this is essential.

The successful candidate will possess experience in Development work with proven success in understanding business user needs and requirements, as well as managing user expectations for this challenging and highly visible role.
