The Asset Management’s Infrastructure and Application Services (AMIAS) technology team develops and manages the suite of applications, infrastructure components and systems that support portfolio management, business research, trading, financial accounting, client reporting, business profitability analysis, information websites, investment engines, pricing databases, decision-making and data processing.  The technologies and business applications we support and provide oversight for include business critical decision support and trading execution applications, data warehouses, data centers, servers, desktops, networks, communications systems, contingency sites and much more.

Position Description:  

 

This is an opportunity is for an Application Support Specialistto join the London based Fixed Income Support teamwithin the Asset Management Application Service Delivery group. This role involves teamwork with Fixed Income Traders, Portfolio Managers, Research analysts, Middle Office Operations and Application Development communities at all levels within the organization.

The team owns the holistic support of the front office technology platform globally including tactical enhancements, application upgrades, new application rollouts, maintenance, performance tuning and provide a depth of both business and technology service to the whole organization.

The platform covers a magnitude of asset classes’ dependent on investment strategy, leveraging both proprietary built systems complementing customized vendor applications. The team is a truly global follow the sun model, which is in line with the business changes and the new technology platform.Excellent communication skills are a must for this position.  The individual should have a passion for the system support role, have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and be able to work successfully in a cross-functional environment among other application support teams. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to fully use and apply standard technical troubleshooting principles while following standardized Problem and Change Management policies and procedures. This person must have the ability to work on projects and other assignments with minimal direct supervision.

 

Position Responsibilities:

· 
Application Support of the front office investment and trading platforms, including interfacing with portfolio managers and traders daily

· 
Troubleshooting business issues, solving problems to provide solutions to diverse investment teams and the product aligned trading desks. Ownership and participation in the Incident and problem management processes, being accountable for resolution, root cause analysis and technology and business reporting and communication

· 
Ownership and accountability for the operation, monitoring and integrity of the technology platform, Providing oversight for the stability of the production environment within the change management process ensuring policies are enforced and adhered to

· 
Escalation support for the members of the team located in other regions including evenings and weekends on a rotational basis

· 
Relationship management internally with the investment teams, trading desks, operations teams, legal, audit, risk and compliance teams.

· 
Navigate the wider technology organization; build relationships to manage the team’s agenda with our critical technology partners.

· 
Interface with external vendors and their technical support and development organizations ensuring focus to resolution of issues and strategic enhancements.

· 
Participate in large scale projects that impact the Global Fixed Income business and technology.

· 
Proactively seeking to improve process by automation and removing manual effort

 
 
 

Experience Requirements:

· 
Experience within financial services, preferably with a focus in asset management, 

· 
Multi Asset class product knowledge FI, FX, Currencies, Equities, Commodities, etc.

· 
Support experience with an OMS and/or Trade execution systems, ideally in an investment management front office environment.

· 
Three or more years technical experience:

· 
Sybase and/or Oracle and/or MS SQL, knowledge of NO-SQL database technology

· 
Windows , Unix (Linux, Solaris)

· 
FIX Protocol

· 
Knowledge of Splunk DynaTrace AppDynamics is highly desirable

·  Previous experience of working within a global organization effectively leveraging cross regional teams.
· 
Experience in technology support Level 1 to 3

· 
Detailed knowledge of the trading lifecycle, with a focus on front office technology.

·  Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, auditing, risk analysis, business resumption planning and contingency planning.

 

Desirable :

 

·  Sysadmin experience UNIX/Linux
·  Devise and develop analytical methods and tools to measure the efficiency of products and processes i.e. borderline developer, ability to code and script
·  Experience working with cloud base technologies and knowledge of open source technologies and tools
·  Understanding of the agile development methodology.
·  Scripting experience – C# .Net PERL, UNIX, and Windows
·  Object oriented development language knowledge preferably Java.
