We are searching for a strong and proactive Application Support Technologist to join our ecommerce team integrating and supporting foreign exchange API clients. The technologist will work with a high-frequency, low-latency business, and will work closely with the front office sales and trading desks to provide Application Support and fix bugs/technical issues with the Application. The role requires some finance experience, and candidates must be highly motivated with a track record of success. We prefer candidates with a broad range of technical experience, including FIX integration and some application development or scripting. The candidate will interact directly with our clients, and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to represent the firm well.
In this role, the candidate will be expected to know the clients, understand their trading needs, and work regularly with the trading and sales teams to ensure healthy client relationships. The candidate would also identify opportunities in the API trading business, and work closely with the front office to improve the product and ensure that the bank offers the most competitive API trading platform available.
This role is in the Investment Bank. The FX front-office environment is demanding, but one where creativity and problem solving skills are rewarded. A strong and entrepreneurial technologist will thrive in this role.
· Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or scientific field, or equivalent experience
· Deep FIX integration experience
· Knowledge of Python or other scripting tools. Java preferred.
· Good knowledge of FIX protocols, and familiarity with FIX vendor software
· Ability to build strong relationships with business and technology partners
· Excellent communication skills
· Foreign Exchange and Rates market experience
