EMEA Compliance – Global Financial Crimes – GFCC KYC Advisory – Associate – London/Bournemouth

 

The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) team is responsible for Anti Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, sanctions screening and to provide Know Your Client (KYC) Compliance support to Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)-booked activity across multiple lines of business (LOB). The team's role is part of the financial crime objective to:

· 
identify suspicious activity and report to law enforcement;

· 
prevent clients being on boarded or being maintained that create money laundering or reputational risk to JPMC; and

· 
ensure JPMC does not maintain accounts or facilitate transactions involving sanctioned countries, parties or individuals.

The team works in partnership with colleagues in LOB Compliance, US, Asia Pacific and Latin American GFCC teams, local EMEA in-country Compliance teams and LOB client-focused staff. This position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong financial crimes background including risk management, UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017, UK Proceeds of Crime Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act and sanctions experience along with knowledge of regulatory trends. This position further requires business acumen, strategic and creative thinking, understanding and analysis of AML risk, strong project management skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, as well as maintaining advanced research and analytical skills. A working knowledge of global financial institutions and commercial treasury products is strongly preferred.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· 
Ensure accuracy of client due diligence records with appropriate LOB and Corporate Compliance standards and country specific regulations as appropriate (as a large global institution, clients are located around the world) and documentation to mitigate associated AML risks

· 
Provide advice to Sales and KYC support staff on standard and enhanced due diligence KYC documentation requirements in accordance with KYC policy

· 
Ensure consistent implementation of domestic and international Compliance policies and procedures as it relates to high risk businesses

· 
Perform ad-hoc risk assessments of client due diligence records for a variety of high risk Wholesale Banking clients (including financial institutions such as hedge funds, private equity firms, broker dealers, correspondent banks and money remitters) relating to financial crimes, vulnerability to proceeds of crime and reputational risk

· 
Support broader GFCC CIB Advisory Team in advising each sub-LOB on financial crime issues related to the client or transactional matters

· 
Identify significant risk issues and escalate as appropriate

· 
Participate in the development and implementation of projects and initiatives as required

Qualifications

· 
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required

· 
Proven ability to make sound decisions, including escalation when appropriate, in regard to AML or sanction risk

· 
Strong interpersonal, presentation and organisation skills

· 
Well-organised and able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision; ability to prioritise multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes.

· 
Problem management skills

· 
Clear and concise verbal and written communication.
