Graduate job Bothwell (South Lanarkshire) IT development
Job description
Developer / Analyst - Risk and P&L - Business Aligned - CIB Macro
Orion is the risk and P&L aggregation tool across JP Morgan"s Global Rates business. Orion consolidates data from multiple core trading systems. Traders and financial controllers use Orion to view, analyze and sign off their end of day (EOD) official P&L and risk position. As such, Orion delivers technology to support critical part of Rates trading business.
The Orion application's core components are: Extract Transform and Load (ETL) that receives data from core trading (prime record) applications and populates the database; the Orion Cache which loads the data into a distributed in-memory store (Oracle Coherence) and allows users to run ad-hoc aggregation requests through a C# WPF client. Orion features an in-house written Report Definition component which allows rapid configuration (and deploy at run time) of customized data processing rules using a subset of Java.
We are the application development team that supports Orion throughout the full software development lifecycle. We make changes to the core platform to scale it up and support new features, make changes to the business configuration to on-board new trading desks and financial measures; deliver changes to production environments; and support end users: traders, controllers, middle office and other groups. Most of our team are end-to-end developers: strong Java and C# skills; understanding risk and P&L structure across Rates products; and ability to speak to and business and understand their needs.
The team is based mostly in New York, London and Mumbai we are currently looking to hire Associate developers into JP Morgan's Glasgow office to build out a fully functioning AD team partnering with other locations.
Your key responsibilities will be:
· Work directly with business users to on-board them to the platform. Making business configuration changes to support it.
· Support end users and analyze and resolve technical issues with the platform. Work with business and technology partners to find the root cause of the issue, and to ensure its resolution feeds back to the development cycle.
