JPMorgan Asset Management Data Modeller JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM) continues to drive towards best in class data management capabilities to ensure all areas of the business and operations make decisions or report information based on a clear understanding of the data they are using and its quality. In parallel technology are looking to overhaul the way they deliver and document data. A model driven service architecture coupled with a comprehensive metadata solution underpins the target state data architecture. To achieve these objectives we are looking to build out a core data architecture team by recruiting a number of experienced logical data modellers who will report directly to the JPMAM Chief Data Architect. The core data architecture team will work in a collaborative manner with global data product owners to maintain logical data models in support of developing data services for maintaining and accessing core enterprise level data. Role The Data Modeller position is part of a central responsible for owning, developing and maintaining the JPMAM Corporate Logical Data Model. The role requires excellent data modelling and communication skills working with CDO and business users in different global locations. In addition it is essential to have a good working knowledge on data principles/standards, data quality, data architecture and design, and metadata management. Once the logical data model has been approved it becomes the basis for a number of key system deliverables that are carried out by or are overseen by the data modeller such as; Maintaining business data requirements in logical data model Maintaining data quality rules in logical data model Managing the linkage between the logical data model, business glossary and any physical artefacts to ensure traceability and consistency of terms and definitionsAs a member of the core data modelling team additional responsibilities will include coaching and mentoring other technology and operational personal such as data analysts in either developing or interpreting logical data models. Key Responsibilities ·Logical data modelling to capture and maintain actual business data requirements. ·Ensuring all logical data models are consistent and that the Business Glossary is linked and maintained in a manner that allows impact assessment and lineage of metadata. ·Data model integration and consolidation. ·Maintenance of business rules. Assisting data analysts with capturing business rules and translating those rules into clear requirement specifications and then into the data model is a task the data modeller is responsible for. ·Creating first-cut physical data models, UML class models and XML models from the logical data models. ·Coaching and mentoring data modelling principles/standards, approach, skills and patterns.

Preferred Experiences ·Physical data models and database design (Oracle, Sybase) ·XML/ XSD and Object based model design ·Good knowledge of XML and UML ·Metadata repository maintenance ·Current state documentation and data lineage capture ·Data modelling tool customisation ·Data architecture design and decision Background Computer Science Graduate or similar experience Background of logical data modelling Must have a track record of successfully projects where they were the lead data modeller Experience in data modelling in the financial services industry Mandatory Skills Excellent logical data modelling skills (principles, standards, designs and change management) Strong knowledge of data model design patterns Solid data analysis skills Proficient with a data modelling tool such as PowerDesigner Good understanding of the best practice data governance and data quality controls Financial business knowledge 2 out of the following 5: 1.Equity 2.
