Group Description:
The EMEA Capital Markets Legal Group is part of the EMEA CIB Legal Department in London and supports the EMEA Debt Capital Markers (DCM) and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) business teams in structuring and execution of debt and equity securities transactions, including investment grade, high yield and emerging markets bond issues, hybrid capital, covered bonds, IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades and equity-linked instruments as well as liability management and assisting in RFPs.

The candidate will be responsible for documenting, reviewing and executing a mixture of transactions in DCM and ECM, closely working with the business teams, other control areas and Legal colleagues globally.

Responsibilities:
·  Pro-actively support the business groups in London and other offices globally which originate transactions, through structuring and execution of transaction including review and negotiation of legal documents, legal advice, and providing guidance on risk assessment and solutions
·  Liaise with the business teams, other control areas and colleagues in Legal in setting/maintaining documentation standards, internal policies, practice guidelines, and monitoring relevant legal, regulatory and documentation developments
·  Pro-actively sharing experience and know-how with colleagues in Legal, where appropriate globally. Provide training to the business and within Legal
·  Participation in Legal and Firm-wide projects

Essential Experience/Qualification:

·  Must be able to demonstrate solid DCM and/or ECM experience in a lead role at a premier law firm (secondment to an investment bank - an advantage) or an in-house legal team at an investment bank.
·  Lawyer must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction. Non-legal candidates with strong work

·  English – fluent
·  Foreign languages – an advantage but not a necessity

All internal moves will normally take place on the same grade and same salary. Salaries are reviewed annually in February. Exceptions to the rule regarding transfer on current salary may include a move between geographic locations.
