Job Description for GEM Middle office – Rates business

The GEM Rates Middle Office located in Mumbai supports the global trade capture teams located across Europe and Asia Pacific.
The Mumbai team executes the below functions –
1. MIS & Data Management:
Generate daily / weekly/ monthly reports and circulate to stakeholders of the Global Recipient.
2. Trade Support:
Investigate and amend Risk Management systems for economic breaks, raised by the back office of affiliates through the query management tools.
Execute the T & T+1 control reconciliations associated with the process and resolve discrepancies, if any.
3. Controls:
Execute all prime record reconciliations not linked to trade execution of deals. This will involve the execution of these reconciliations, the investigation of all breaks less than the prescribed limit set by the Global trade capture teams.
It is now expanding its foot print and requires Operations Analyst (Sr. Team Member) and team leaders to fulfill the following responsibilities across levels:
502 – Professional (Team Leader)
ü Bachelor's Degree (at least 70% marks) with 3-4 years of relevant banking experience
ü Further education, Masters. (Commerce/ Accounts preferred)
ü Derivatives Systems knowledge (JPMC or Banking Systems)
ü PC Literate MS Excel/ Word/ Access required
ü Proficiency in written & spoken English
Ø Process –
o Understanding of Derivative / Fixed Income life cycle of a trade.
o Good understanding of the control environment. Has risk and control awareness.
o Drafting, Confirmations, Affirmations, Settlements and or Middle office exposure.
Ø Skill Set
o Client Focus, understand key clients and their support requirements, builds strong relationships
o Strong understanding of end to end controls, infrastructure & clear awareness of risk
o Takes ownership & is delivery focused. Delivers independently and seamlessly
o Demonstrates good problem solving skills, creative yet pragmatic
o Ability to negotiate & influence at appropriate levels.
o Prioritizes effectively and manages within deadlines
o Actively engages team member, works directly with individuals and grows and develops talent
o Is able to identify and implement change
o Maintains, grows & builds strong working relationships within team and outside of direct team
