Securities Lending:

The group provides operational support to the Discretionary and Alternative Lending programs offered to JPMorgan custody and various non custody clients. The role involves interaction with clients, trading desks, agent bank networks, borrowing counterparties, operational teams based in London, Sydney and New York together with other internal JPMorgan business partners.

Securities Lending is an asset management technique where securities are temporarily transferred by its owner (the lender) to another investor/financial intermediary (the borrower). The borrower is obliged to return the securities to the lender, either on demand, or at the end of any agreed term. For the period of the loan, the lender is secured by acceptable assets delivered by the borrower to the lender as collateral. Securities Lending covers a wide area of process on a smaller scale to the Custody wide business.
