The Johannesburg CIB Operations team provides support to Global Emerging Markets (Gem); Corporate Treasury; Cash Equities and Delta 1 businesses as well as meeting the support of traditional Trade Finance products and ensuring that that the Bank meets all of it's ZAR clearing obligations within the SA market The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, self-driven individual who is capable of multi-tasking, analytically reviewing data and process to identify improvements, display good time management and communication skills. Description A position in the Jhb CIB Operations team offering comprehensive exposure to the support functions in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will receive on the job training and will be required to form part of the business support teams. . Key Responsibilities ·To gain a sound understanding of the CIB Operations support function ·Ownership and resolution of all daily tasks as well as any extraordinary issues that arise ·The ability to maintain and provide a sound operations control environment ·Appropriate escalation and reporting of any pertinent issues ·Ad hoc project management/co-ordination ·Query resolution ·Performing all required reconciliations and control processes Key Competencies ·Ability to interact effectively with clients, lenders, custodian and settlement authority ·Good appreciation of the necessity for a controlled operations environment ·Ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships with other areas in the bank ·Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate work flows effectively ·Ability to work well under pressure ·Attention to detail – high level of accuracy ·Strong analytical and numerical skills ·Good Excel and Word Skills ·Good communication skills – both written and verbal Educational/Qualifications ·B.
