The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB's business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

Business and Role Description

The Investment Banking line of business within JPMorgan provides clients with advisory and financial structuring services. The Product Controller team is responsible for providing business advisory and accounting support, control oversight and integrity of the financial statements and transaction end-to-end control in support of the business. Responsibilities of this team include, but are not limited to, oversight of financial statement and management reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting policies including new business initiatives and product review, business performance control, business analytics and expense management.

This role provides a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to gain a broad understanding across the Banking products and become a valued partner to the various Finance Teams, while building partnerships with business leaders as well as Corporate and CIB Central Finance Teams.

The successful candidate will have strong accounting, communication, and teamwork skills which will be critical to developing strong partnerships across multiple functions and regions.

Position Description:

The role will drive co-ordination across Regions and have responsibilities related to:

· Tracking, analyzing and investigating Debt Capital Markets RWA, Liquidity Outflow, spot and average balance sheet and related performance measures
· Provide guidance at business/regional level on efficient B/S & RWA management
· Support the Balance Sheet, Capital and External Reporting, Month and Quarter End Reporting and Forecasting and Planning Cycles by working with key finance contacts in Product Control and Central CIB Reporting
· Ensure consistency in analyzing forecast and actual results; investigating discrepancies across regions and providing consolidated business commentary
· Analysis of deal documentation for validation and calculation of Debt Capital markets revenues for P&L reporting and commentary
· Investigation, explanation and communication of business drivers underpinning significant financial movements and variances for Front Office, Legal Entity Controllers, Corporate Reporting and other IB and Corporate Finance groups
· Analyzing Volcker metrics for accuracy, providing key variance commentary
· Continuous improvement through review of current practices/processes, identifying deficiencies and/or weaknesses, and delivering solutions to enhance the current control and reporting environment
· Support control frameworks, including SOX, RCSA, New Business Initiative Approvals and Recovery & Resolution
· Managing special projects as requested and developing new MIS processes as needed

Desired profile

·  Minimum 2-3 years' experience with accounting / financial services background
·  Strong accounting / finance background highly preferred
·  Excellent technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite
·  Knowledge of CDGL, Paragon, FDW and Business Objects applications is a great plus
·  Self-starter & learner who actively contributes to team, and thrives in a continuously changing and evolving environment with a focus on efficiency and quality
·  Ability to quickly grasp concepts, learn processes and execute on deliverables in a timely manner
·  Excellent time management skills, being flexible to handle multiple tasks at the same time and prioritize the tasks in the order of importance
·  Ability to lead and participate in special projects
