The team

Markets Technology provides end to end technology solutions for the firm's Investment Banking, Sales & Trading and Risk Management business areas.

Pyramid is a strategic platform for processing and risk managing derivatives in the Investment Bank. It is used by Credit Hybrids, Equity Derivatives businesses globally. The trade processing suite is responsible for trade capture, event & position management, and feeds to downstream systems such as accounting and legal documentation. Products range from high volume listed products to highly complex over-the-counter structured derivatives.

The platform uses a range of technologies including Java, Sybase tSQL, C#/.net, and C++ on Windows and Linux platforms. This is an opportunity to join an award winning technology team with strong business sponsorship to deliver revenue enhancing technology and industry wide transformation.

The role

We are recruiting an experienced developer to join the Pyramid team. The successful candidate will analyse, design, and implement solutions primarily in Java in a complex environment to tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

· Understand business requirements.

· Design, develop, test, performance tune, and implement solutions within the current technology stack.

· Break-down complicated tasks, estimate, and deliver quality code and tests in an agile environment.

· Liaise effectively with business users, development teams and production support groups.

Desired profile

Essential

· Strong Java (services/messaging) experience.
· Source code management, ideally using Git/Stash.
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Capable of working effectively within a distributed global development team.
· Unix/Linux.

Desirable

· Equity derivatives knowledge.

Education

· To degree level, ideally in a computer science, mathematical or engineering discipline.
