Our business
Markets UK Private Side Sales is a team of 10 professional responsible for marketing risk management and financing solutions to UK corporates (including banks and insurance companies undertaking M&A) and private equity clients. The products that we are responsible for marketing include rates derivatives (interest, inflation and cross currency basis), FX spot and derivatives, equity derivatives, credit derivatives, enhanced deposits, repos and securitized financing.
Opportunity
The opportunity is for an Associate to join the team to cover corporate clients on risk management, with a primary focus on rates but with an ability to cover other asset classes, alongside EDs and MDs on the team. We expect the candidate to have a strong understanding of interest rate and currency swaps and experience of pricing/executing these with either internal or external clients.
Desired profile
Key responsibilities:
- Trade execution and booking; which would involve working with client, traders, internal credit desks, legal, regulatory and middle office functions
- Maintaining ongoing dialogue with external and internal clients and developing relationships
- Preparation of materials for regular as well as deal specific client meetings
- Production of regular market updates and publications to clients
- Working with the private side structuring team and internal risk functions to generate ideas
Requirements
The role requires an energetic and motivated individual, who can work with the team and with clients to tight deadlines. The candidate needs to be able to interact with clients – both external and internal in a clear and concise way both verbally and in writing. An ability to be able to deal confidently with people at all levels is essential.
Essential skills
· Experience of executing/pricing interest rate swaps and currency swaps
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
· Good time management and organizational skills
· Strong IT skills with a good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
