Our business
JPM Hedge Fund Credit Sales is a small 7-person team operating under James Pearce's credit sales business. We cover over 175 hedge fund clients on all credit and credit derivative products (with the exception of leveraged loans). We trade both secondary credit as well as selling new issue product to our account base. We liaise closely with research, syndicate as well as cross-product with sales teams in rates, equities & commodities.
Opportunity
The desk is looking for someone with financial markets experience (ideally credit) to replace a recently-departed second year analyst. The applicant should have strong basic credit fundamental knowledge, however sales or trading experience is not essential. The role will initially involve managing the bulk of the desk administration and covering a small number of clients. All functions of this are essential in understanding the business hedge fund clients specifically and the way in which sales interact with clients. The applicant, as they prove themselves competent, will be afforded the opportunity to cover more hedge fund clients. The desk operates a very flat structure so as the applicant's competence is proven, more opportunity will be afforded. The applicant must have exceptional interpersonal skills, be FCA approved and prepared and confident to speak directly to clients in short order after joining the desk.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for updating and maintaining client runs & client access to the JPM research portal morganmarkets.
· Responsible for maintaining accurate and current summaries of all live JPM primary markets transactions and will be expected to generate trade ideas that the desk can pitch to clients.
· Opportunity to cover accounts directly.
