Job description

CIB - Credit Risk and CCIC EMEA – Programme Analyst - London

Our business

Credit Risk is the risk of loss if a client fails to honour their obligations. It is an element of virtually every service and product we provide to our clients. We organise ourselves in a way that's unique in our industry. By combining the credit analysis, mitigation and decision making functions and private side management and monitoring, we are able to offer our clients (not to mention our graduates) a holistic view of risk management.

Credit Risk is an integral part of a broader investment banking platform that enables J.P. Morgan to deliver the most complete and innovative financial solutions in the industry. Credit Risk works closely with businesses and functions across the Corporate and Investment Bank including Derivatives, Treasury Services, Client Coverage teams, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and M&A.

EMEA Credit Risk London comprises of Counterparty Credit Infrastructure and Capital (CCIC) and Core Credit Risk. Core Credit Risk is further split into Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Corporates, Emerging Markets:
·  FIG covers the full range of financial institutions, including banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, clearinghouses, mutual funds, insurers, sovereigns and SPVs.
·  Corporates cover industries, such as Retail, Transportation, Natural Resources, Telecoms, Media and Technology, amongst others.
·  Emerging Markets cover both FIG and Corporates in developing markets.
CCIC works across Collateral, Derivatives, Margining, Stress and Securities portfolios, Legal Entity Credit Risk and Basel governance.

Opportunity

Analysts will be placed into either the Core Credit Risk programme (which entails a minimum of two rotations across FIG, Corporates and Emerging Markets) or the CCIC team.

Key responsibilities

Analysts in Core Credit Risk work on the analysis, structuring and execution of transactions, as well as monitoring the bank's existing credit exposure to clients. They review financing and trading proposals, and make recommendations to senior Credit Officers. Analysts in CCIC work on initiatives to enhance exposure and stress methodologies for the global counterparty credit portfolio of derivatives, securities financing and other traded products. CCIC analysts also work closely with the Legal Entity Credit Officers and Legal Entity Risk Managers and coordinate the production and review of Credit Risk input into rolling regulatory submissions such as ICAAP, Recovery and Resolution, Pillar 3 disclosures etc.

Key requirements

·  Genuine interest in the financial markets
·  Proven academic performance and an ability to demonstrate solid numerical and analytical skills
·  As business is primarily conducted in English, verbal and written fluency in English is essential. However, as we are a global business and operate extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, fluency in other languages is extremely beneficial.

Core competencies and essential skills

·  Ability to work in a team
·  Flexibility and the ability to cope with change in the dynamic market environment
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver clear and concise reports and opinions.

·  Strong negotiation skills, ability to think laterally and use commercial acumen to develop business-oriented solutions
·  Capability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Eligibility

We recruit from all academic disciplines. We’re looking for team players and future leaders with exceptional drive, creativity and interpersonal skills.  Impeccable academic credentials are important, but so are your achievements outside the classroom.

·  Fluency in English is a prerequisite.  A second European language is essential for some roles and advantageous for others.
