Job description

The CIB Controls Organisation is responsible for defining and overseeing the global CIB control environment with a key emphasis on ensuring a robust end-to-end risk and control framework is in place and consistently executed across the CIB. The CIB Controls Organisation is made up of Control Management for the Markets and Banking businesses, GMI Controls and the Central Controls Office.

 

The Central Controls Office leads CIB business-critical, control-related initiatives in addition to RCSA, the Front Office Supervisory tool, Governance and central Controls Management.

Governance & Controls is a function within the Central Controls Office and is directly responsible for:

· 
Governance & Oversight: Provides administrative support for Business Control Committees and acts as global secretariat for CIB Anti Money Laundering (AML) governance

· 
Risk Identification & Assessment: Manages the CIB Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program, the CIB AML/Sanctions risk assessment and risk tolerance annual review, and the review and validation of operational risk events

· 
Policy & Procedure: Supports the implementation of the Firmwide Policy Framework and Firmwide Procedure Standard

· 
Control Operations for select cross-CIB control processes, including Consecutive Leave and User Tools

· 
Reporting and analytics: Leads the continuous evolution of reporting governance and standards across CIB programs

This role is within Governance & Controls and covers and CIB Consecutive Leave Controls and CIB Policy & Procedures Governance, responsibilities include:

· 
Support the CIB Consecutive Leave adherence to the Firmwide Policy, through engagement with all Business Function with designated responsibilities across Trading, Sales and Ops.

· 
Engage with Employee Compliance for potential and actual policy violations.

· 
Attend and present at various Consecutive Leave Firmwide working groups and CIB Control meetings.

· 
Support the development and adherence to the CIB Consecutive Leave Procedures, including roles and responsibilities.

· 
Enhance the CIB Consecutive Leave Admin Control processes and drive Technology prioritisation.

· 
Develop and roll out new CIB Consecutive Leave training and metrics

· 
Support the Business’s implementation of policies and instructing the Business on drafting new policies and procedures.

· 
Document management of CIB policies and procedures, including  overseeing the review, amendment, approval and retirement of documents

· 
Support the CIB Procedure Program through ongoing remediation and QA testing of new and uplifted Procedures versus the Firmwide Procedure Standards.

Work Experience/Skills

· 
Bachelor’s degree required

· 
Experience in financial services, preferably in oversight and controls, operations and/or Compliance, an advantage

· 
Highly disciplined approach to process and quality control and good attention to detail 

· 
Excellent analytical skills: Able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions 

· 
Investigative mind-set: Able to see issues at both a high-level and in detail

· 
Proactive approach to problem solving: Taking ownership of issues and fixes

· 
Relationship management:  Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with numerous teams and key stakeholders.

· 
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.  Ability to present concisely, direct and timely communications to management and key partners

· 
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

· 
Advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
