Job description

The CB AML/KYC Program is in place to support Commercial Banking in implementing and sustaining AML/KYC firmwide standards across all CB business segments. The AML/KYC Quality Control Analyst plays a critical role in the setup and recurring review of CB clients and associated activities. They have strong working knowledge of performing due diligence and quality assurance functions and ensure that the firms KYC and AML requirements are met for all clients. They are responsible for independent and final analysis of client due diligence records, as well as ensuring appropriate AML risk ratings are applied.

Responsibilities

· Analyze and provide approval of KYC documentation, information, research and Due Diligence Forms (DDF) for new and existing clients

o Assess client organizational documents, ownership structure and records for completion and accuracy and to determine appropriate AML due diligence requirements

o Exercise independent evaluation around sufficiency of mitigating factors for any AML related deficiencies or risks

o Liaise with internal teams discuss AML/KYC requirements and convey KYC approval status

o Effectively communicate and resolve deficiencies contained in records with KYC Officers

· As required, evaluate and approve International Addenda, EDD, and SpDD on clients and related parties

o Analyze and compare actual and expected high risk transaction activity to ensure it is appropriately reflected in the DDF

· Evaluate and approve of Negative News and AML/Sanctions Alerts attached to DDF:

o Ensure negative news is appropriately documented and any mitigating factors identified

o Confirm that any escalations are appropriately addressed

· Provide final approval on the AML risk rating for each client, ensuring that all appropriate due diligence has occurred and procedures properly applied, with immediate escalation of any variances

· Interpret and apply regulatory and compliance policies and procedures when reviewing DDFs to ensure that internal controls and regulatory processes are carried out

· Develop a strong working relationship with KYC Officers and Bankers, International Specialists, Industry Risk Officers, AML Compliance, and Operations Risk and Control partners

· Assist with audits and AML/KYC related issues

· Assist with departmental projects

Desired profile

· B.A. Degree or equivalent

· Minimum 2-3 years" experience in financial services operations, compliance, risk management or client service preferred

· Strong understanding of AML and BSA regulatory requirements preferred; CAMS certification is a plus
· Knowledge of wholesale banking products, services and processing for treasury/depository, investments and credit preferred
· Individual must be detail oriented and self-directing
· Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
· High attention to detail
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Strong knowledge of legal entity structures
· Excellent client service, organization and time management skills
· Adaptable, flexible and willing to work in a dynamic environment
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Comfortable working as a team or individually to deliver results

· Strong working experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· General understanding of banking businesses and products is a plus
