The Associate Position in Federal Government Relations (FGR) would report to the Co-Head of FGR, and would:
• Support overall functions of the FGR team, including engagement with policymakers, trade associations and industry stakeholders, among others.
• Identify and track significant issues, helping to develop an understanding of policy implications and monitoring evolving status.
• Manage internal communication on wide range of issues (including policy analysis, tracking hearings and markups, etc.) and prepare background materials on issues for lines of business, internal updates and newsletters.
• Develop forward-looking policy and briefing materials, using data and research available, for use by team members and lines of business.
• Work with internal partners and external groups to ensure consistency in approach to policy issues in the U.S. and globally.
• Coordinate with FGR team and Corporate Responsibility team members, as well as key internal lines of business, to prioritize and facilitate engagement with policymakers.
Desired profile
• Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex policy issues in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience with Government, Public Affairs, Government Relations, and trade associations related to the financial services industry.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of financial services and business issues.
• Strong familiarity with US government, political processes as well as Congress, regulatory bodies and other key stakeholders.
• Proven to have strong work ethic and impeccable integrity.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
