Overall purpose of the job:
An opportunity has arisen in JP Morgan Asset Management Europe (Sarl) (JPMAME) Finance department to support the Legal Entity Control team (LEC team) with its increased Financial Controller's duties in Continental Europe.
The LEC team in Luxembourg is responsible for the Financial Control and Oversight of Global Investment Management entities based in Continental Europe. This includes financial reporting and control for 4 Legal Entities domiciled in Luxembourg, 8 Branches and 2 Subsidiaries based in Continental Europe.
We are looking for a Legal Entity Financial Controller to support the LEC team in its day to day control agenda. This includes the preparation of financial reporting but also the review, assessment and implementation of controls to ensure various policies and norms (local, international, UK and US) are followed and rightly in place in Continental Europe and consistently with the Global GIM LEC team.
The candidate responsibilities will include:
The Candidate will assist the team with the oversight of JPMAME Branches and Continental Europe subsidiaries, and be responsible for the financial reporting and control of activities impacting the Legal Entities under his responsibility. This might include Risk Control Self assessment and SOX related activities on top of day to day control activities.
In particular, the Legal Entity Financial Controller will have to
Take a key responsibility in the Financial Control and oversight for Branches and Continental Europe GIM entities, including:
· Monthly review of Financial reporting provided
· Identification of gaps and follow up on remediation action
· Be a key contributor to the Monthly branches oversight Committee
· Coordination of initiatives impacting the 8 countries in scope
Take ownership of activities performed by the LEC Team, including:
· Regulatory reporting & Head Office reporting in line with regulatory requirements and Corporate Policies (CSSF, FCA, SEC..)
· Statutory accounts preparation in line with regulatory requirements
· Assistance with audits and preparation of auditors venues
· Monthly analytical reviews of the main Balance Sheet & Profit & Loss under responsibility, including explanation of aged balances and aged reconciliation items and resolution actions
Take part of the oversight financial control for delegated activities
Understand the business model and the flows in order to challenge the information provided by external parties and maintain updated permanent files
Desired profile
· Experience in audit field and/or experience in Accounting/Finance related department; experience in Asset Management will be considered as an advantage
· Strong organisational skills including good judgment abilities
· Dedicated to success with emphasis on teamwork
· Conducts appropriate levels of analysis to generate sufficient options
· Demonstrated commitment to excellence in work
· Excellent English oral and written communication skills
· French would be considered as an advantage
