Our Team
The EMEA Life Insurance team manages and oversees the life insurance business in EMEA. Key activities of the team include overseeing external relationships with life insurance companies and brokers, defining the product palette, overseeing regulated and operational activities and defining business directives. The team is based in the UK with extended team members based in Italy, Spain and France.
The EMEA Life Insurance Middle Office team is part of the International Private Bank (IPB) Operations platform supporting our Private Banking business in Asia, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Latin America from our hubs in Geneva, Edinburgh, Singapore & Mumbai. Our Operations team provides strategic support, keeping our firm running to the exceptional standard our clients expect.
The Role
The Life Insurance Middle Office Associate will manage the day to day operational functions with life insurance companies and co-brokers. He or she will partner with multiple stakeholders and will own the execution of the daily activities. He or she will report directly to the EMEA Head of Life Insurance Middle Office.
This role will be directly accountable for maintaining procedures related to all onboarding and administration of life insurance policies, mediation activities and support for related activities in investments and lending. The Life Insurance Middle Office Associate will help the Head of Life Insurance Middle Office to report on key operational metrics in the Life Insurance Business Control Forum and oversee the performance of life insurance company operational activities via service level agreements. In addition, the role will provide operational support for life insurance activities across EMEA.
Specific responsibilities include
· Manage day to day operational tasks for the life insurance business in coordination with Credit Middle Office and broader Operational and Servicing teams
· Respect operational metrics, controls and SLAs
· Maintain relationships with all life insurance companies and co-brokers in order to resolve operational and administrative tasks related to policyholder processes
· Oversee technology feeds from external parties related to life insurance business and coordinate with technology team to resolve breaks and discrepancies
· Maintain all passcodes and user accesses for life insurance company websites
· Manage fees reconciliation process with life insurance companies and Finance team
· Produce and generate data feeds for life insurance companies, as needed
· Maintain an archive of all life insurance company documentation (in multiple languages) and distribute to front office teams on request
· Manage life insurance company and co-broker details in systems for downstream reporting
· Interface with broader operational teams across JPM to resolve operational issues
Desired profile
Requirements
· Good knowledge of wealth management operations and life insurance (preferable but not required)
· Fluency in French and English required, knowledge of Italian and/or Spanish a plus
· Ability to work independently, while partnering and escalating appropriately
· Able to solve issues proactively
· Organized, attention to detail and high level of customer service
· Strong relationship management skills
