Multi-Asset Solutions The Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS) is a 100+ team of portfolio managers, research analysts and strategists based mainly in New York and London, which is dedicated to developing and managing multi-asset and multi-country strategies for institutional and retail clients, drawing upon JPMorgan Asset Management"s global investment expertise across core and alternative asset classes. MAS is responsible for managing and supervising assets totalling over US $140bn, across traditional balanced, volatility and outcome oriented strategies, convertible bonds and total return funds as well as Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) mandates. The MAS investment process develops top down and bottom up insights on capital markets, asset allocation over a range of time horizons, investment styles and manager selection, and combines these with a robust approach to portfolio construction, capital allocation and risk analysis to deliver its investment solutions. MAS Global Multi-Asset Strategy The MAS Global Multi-asset Strategy function forms, together with the Research, Portfolio Management and Implementation Teams, the investment function of MAS. The research efforts of the team are focused on the contribution to MAS"s global asset allocation process through the development of investment insights and qualitative analysis, as well as the production of investment strategy research publications, which are distributed widely to JPMorgan Asset Management"s clients.   General The Global Strategist role is critical to the growing MAS business. The primary focus of the position is to identify, conduct and present research projects that help to drive the asset allocation decision making process within MAS. In particular the Global Strategist will work in close collaboration with the Research team to develop the qualitative asset allocation process as part of the broader TAA activities within MAS. Specifically, the role would focus on contributing to broadening the asset allocation opportunity set and providing robust frameworks and models for building new asset groups into the broader TAA process. The individual would also be fully engaged in communicating strategy views and market themes with our partners in the business and with clients. The role is at VP/ED level, depending on experience. Activities and projects that a Global Strategist in this capacity will be involved in or may work on include: • Research and analyse global macroeconomic environment and impact upon investment decisions to support the regional asset allocation • Provide input into asset allocation decisions as part of regular investment process and review of accounts • Provide input to Global Multi-Asset Strategy at their regular meetings and investment off-sites • Contribute to the development of the strategic and intermediate asset allocation process in conjunction with Research and Global Multi-Asset Strategy • Contribute to, and help to maintain, a macro and markets database; in particular working closely with US counterparts to develop global economic and equity market views • Provide commentary on the international economy and policy environment and contribute to production of regular written strategy publications • Create and maintain a state of the art equity country, region, sector and style framework and work closely with research and PM teams on implementation of a wider equity opportunity set within with broad cross-asset TAA framework

Desired profile

Required skills It is expected that the successful candidate will have the following attributes: • A passion for investment • Economics degree, or other numerate degree combined with postgraduate study in finance or economics • Must have proven direct financial markets experience (Investment Bank, Asset Manager, Hedge Fund, Central Bank) ideally in a strategy or economic analysis role • Good statistical skills, including evidence of econometric skills • Proficiency with use of Excel, Powerpoint, Datastream, Bloomberg, Factset • Excellent written skills and ability to write to tight deadlines, • Accomplished presentation skills, and the ability to present to internal and external audiences, either via conference calls or at seminars • Evidence of a clear, structured and independent mind • Collaborative and collegiate plus a willingness to undertake all aspects of the role • IMC/CFA is not essential but desirable ·in depth equity valuation expertise and thorough ability to explain, monitor and digest regional and sectoral nuances across global equity markets JPMorgan offers an exceptional benefits program and a highly competitive compensation package.
