Risk and PNL application based support for the derivatives platform

Primary Responsibilities
·  Manages activities related to maintenance of the application systems that are running the daily operations of the firm
·  Responsibilities include oversight for the creation and maintenance of application Service Level
·  Agreements, root cause analysis, management communication and client relationship management in partnership with Infrastructure Service Support team members
·  Manages the production changes made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines and data management
·  Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members as well as overall team management responsibilities
·  Supports the day-to-day maintenance of the application systems in operation, including tasksrelated to identifying and troubleshooting application and data issues and issues resolution orescalation
·  Develops deep analytical thinking using root cause analysis, management communication and client relationship management in partnership with Infrastructure Support team members
·  Collaborates to ensures all production changes are made in accordance with lifecycle methodology and risk guidelines
·  Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
Business Knowledge
·  In-depth knowledge of the business(es) supported and the applications utilized
·  Develops a mindset for risk and control compliance to departmental and company wide standards
·  Works within standards of financial control and budget management
·  Executes a client centric environment for teams and contributors

Technical skills, knowledge and experience

·  Experience in production support in the financial services industry
·  Equities and Derivatives product knowledge
·  Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
·  Very strong experience in supporting Sales and Trading, and Risk and Trade management platforms
·  Excellent knowledge of SQL and stored procedures (experience with Sybase and Oracle databases)
·  Excellent knowledge of UNIX (experience with Linux essential)
·  Strong software and business systems design, analysis, development and support skills required
·  Strong working knowledge of ITRS monitoring system
·  Strong Perl and Shell scripting skills
·  Strong knowledge of networking, connectivity and low latency trading
