Cross Business Services (Derivatives) Production Management Team is responsible for the support of systems providing settlement, accounting and confirmation functionality to the Rates, Credit Markets, FX, Commodities, Money Markets, and Equities businesses. We provide Production support for a range of legacy and strategic Derivatives processing applications such as STS (Swaps Transaction System) & DCPP (Derivatives Core Processing Platform), plus the support of the Operations Task Manager (OTM) system used to drive the daily back-office user activities. Typical day-to-day support activities span the full range of ITIL services (Call Management, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management etc). The team also manages execution of application release tasks and disaster recovery testing events, and providing “on call” support over the weekend.

· This specific role in the Derivatives Controls space will be responsible for the day-to-day management of end-to-end system controls which will help ensure that all Derivatives trades and subsequent business events performed against those trades are accurately reflected in down-stream data repositories – primarily in the strategic Cross-Asset Operations Data Store.

o This data store will be used as the data source of several business and regulatory-critical extracts – so their accuracy is hugely important.

· The Derivatives Control team will do this in close collaboration with partners in various Application Development teams, Production Management teams, and Operations teams partners

The role will be based in Mumbai or Bangalore and will involve working as part of a global team that also has representation in Bournemouth & Houston. Weekend work will be required as well as occasional overnight support. The work will entail providing some support coverage during EMEA hours.

· Key Responsibilities and Typical Duties will include the following:

o Helping define and evolve the daily controls process as the various strategic reconciliation solutions are deployed

o Helping define and evolve the support responses to any breaks

o Ensure daily reconciliations are performed and daily exception reports are generated

o Substantiation of breaks

o Consultants to Business in resolving Business exceptions

o Resolution of Technical exceptions

o Monitor & report the trend of open breaks (MIS via Cognos)

· Run regular meetings to discuss the open exceptions

· Tracking and follow up of open exceptions

It is expected that members of this team will become subject-matter experts in the end-to-end message flows of Derivatives trade messages through the DCPP platform.

Technical Experience (Note: these are typical core skills required by members of the Prod Support team. Not all are essential to the execution of the Derivatives Controls function):



· Unix/Linux Intermediate 1-3 years

· SQL Intermediate 1-3 years

· Sybase/Oracle Intermediate 1-3 years

· Apache Web Server Beginner 1-3 years

· Informatica/Cognos Intermediate 1-3 years

· Monitoring tools

Experience - Desirable:
Knowledge of front-to-back-office business workflows, and the specific Confirmation, Affirmation, Settlement & Accounting functions performed by Back-office processing platforms.

• The mission-critical nature of these globally-used applications means that on occasion it will be necessary for the successful candidate to work extended hours at short notice to help see an incident through to resolution.
• To enable an effective response to off-hours incidents a call-out rota in maintained across the wider team. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of this rota
