IRS Ltd is the leading provider of Radiation Protection Advisory (RPA) services in the UK, delivering RPA and Medical Physics Expert (MPE) support to multiple NHS Trusts and private hospitals, as well as veterinary and dental practices. The Technical Officer role is a permanent position based in our Liverpool head office, with excellent road and rail links (only a few minutes’ walk from Brunswick train station), offering fantastic opportunities, job security, training and development to the ideal candidate.
Working as part of the Survey Team, you will be responsible for performing radiation safety surveys on medical and x-ray generating equipment, as well as surveying industry leading dental radiology equipment at various sites located across the whole of the UK. Meeting and interacting with different customers on a daily basis, this varied and exciting role will provide you with fantastic career opportunities. Reporting to the Scientific and Technical Management Group, you will be taken through a comprehensive, hands-on training programme to ensure your proficiency as soon as possible.
Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in a science based subject. A postgraduate degree or relevant work experience would be welcome but is not essential. A full driving license is required because of the travel involved. Given the nature of the role, the ideal candidate must have a flexible approach to work as short notice site visits may be required.
