Summary
Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow, and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production equipment and personnel.

Responsibilities

·  Monitors and continuously improves daily quality/efficiency performance for assigned areas.
·  Designs and procures production tooling, processing equipment and workstations.
·  Coordinates layout and workstation move activities.
·  Prepares time estimates for proposed projects and evaluates time factors.
·  Minimizes changes over time by ensuring programs use common setups where possible.
·  Verifies that machine maintenance is being performed on schedule.
·  Reduces machinegenerated scrap by monitoring machine management data and taking corrective action to improve or correct the operations.
·  Reduces manual assembly scrap by monitoring quality data and taking corrective action to improve or correct the operations.
·  Studies functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication.
·  Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
·  Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
·  Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

·  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
·  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
·  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
·  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  
·  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
·  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  
·  Ability to interpret an Extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
·  Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Auto-CAD a plus) and e-mail skills required. 

Education Requirement
Bachelor's Degree, First Degree, Trade/Vocational School certificate or Equivalent required. Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technology, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual will be required to stand and walk or otherwise traverse in order to be accessible to the production floor for extended periods of time. The person in this position will be required to regularly exert at least 10 lbs. of force to push, pull or otherwise move objects and may be required to carry or lift objects up to 50 lbs. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and/or documents; viewing a computer terminal; and/or visual inspection of products or machinery. The person in this position may need to occasionally sit, type, climb stairs, bend, reach, kneel, or twist for minimal periods of time. Employees should not attempt to lift, pull or push a load in excess of 50 lbs. without assistance. Care should always be taken when lifting, pushing or pulling in an awkward position.
