Introduction

We are looking undergraduate or graduate students in Mathematics, Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other related fields who are interested in learning about the daily management of client relationships, involving traditional financial and international commercial banking products and services to kick-start their future careers in Relationship Management. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a multi-cultural team, including professionals with different backgrounds who are dedicated to the daily activities of a Financial Institutions Desk primarily focused on closing, executing, managing and monitoring commercial banking products and services. Teamworking, problem solving and analytical skills are what we are looking for in our new colleagues. 

Activities

 

Primarily supporting the Global Relationship Managers and Relationship Managers Responsible to cover Financial Institutions in the Americas (including Banks, Non-Bank Financial Institutions, Financial Sponsors, Sovereign Wealth Funds and Public Pension Funds) executing, managing and monitoring transactions of the relevant clients in the portfolio. You will assist the GRMs and RMs in the structuring of products and services to meet customer needs, as well as with the development and enhancement of current and prospective client relationships. Main activities: • to assist the GRMs and the RMs in assessing the business and financial performance of the relevant customers and activating the necessary corrective actions; • to collaborate with the GRMs and the RMs in structuring the Bank's products and services to meet customer needs and provide support in the development and enhancement of current and prospective client relationships; • to assist the GRMs and RMs in identifying business opportunities and with cross-selling Intesa Sanpaolo's financial products and services; • to support the GRMs and the RMs in meeting profitability and achieving commercial and risk goals for the referenced customer base; • to liaise with the Branch's other Departments and Group structures on business related banking activities, and in particular collaborating and coordinating with Credit Officers in preparing credit proposals; • to ensure the Branch's KYC (Know Your Customers) and CDD (Customers Due Diligence) procedures and directives are strictly adhered to; • to perform specific administrative activities related to customer management; • to guarantee the quality of the work performed, as well as in respect to the terms, and intervening operatively on urgent transactions; • to perform management reporting and marketing research responsibilities as directed/assigned by management; • to analyze the details of the transactions from a financial, legal and compliance perspectives, in coordination and with support from the appropriate Departments and Groups; • to provide support in the preparation of all correspondence, proposals and documentation, monitoring of disbursements and settlements, tracking legal documentation to insure that all required documents are received, properly filed and kept current. • possible direct involvement in any ad hoc initiatives and projects managed or co-managed by other areas will be dependent on hard & soft skills already acquired.

• You will be exposed to the daily activities of the Financial Institutions Team primarily focused on the management of products and procedures, financing dynamics and related corporate risks; • you will learn how an International bank such as Intesa Sanpaolo support the business developments of its Financial Institutions and Corporate Clients globally, primarily in the american region, having the opportunity to interact with a multitude of different Business Functions and Business Structures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or Business Administration/ an MBA or Master's Degree Program in Banking and / or Finance; • strong quantitative and analytical skills; • general understanding of international financial business and its products and practices; • credit/financial statements reclassification and analysis skills; • basic accounting knowledge; • proficiency in MS Office; • proficiency in English (Italian/Spanish/Portuguese are considered a plus), both written and spoken; • availability for 6 months. Distinctive advantage would be: • knowledge of, or previous experience supporting traditional financial and international financial products and transactions; • previous internship in an International bank; • prior professional experience/exposure with North American and Latin American countries/counterparties.
