THE ROLE
Fredrickson’s International, part of the Lowell Group, provides a range of business solutions across a variety of business sectors. We are currently looking to recruit a Developer to join our expanding business. Our blue chip client base is made up of some of the largest Financial Institutions and Corporations in the UK and Europe including financial services, communications, utility companies, mail order and many more.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new systems, enhancing and supporting our existing in-house systems whilst actively introducing and maintaining development processes and standards. They will also be required to mentor junior members of the development team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Essential
o Advanced knowledge of VB.NET
o MS SQL Server Programming (t-sql, creating stored procedures, views, functions, etc)
o Database design
o Working in a client/server environment
o 3 years plus, of developing enterprise level applications.
o Experience of working within a structured software development/delivery team.
o Full end-to-end development life-cycle experience
o Team Foundation Server

• Desirable
o Scrum/Agile Methodologies
o ASP.NET
o Microsoft Reporting Services.
o Working within small development teams
o Experience of supporting VB6 applications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head of IT Development your responsibilities will include:-

• Undertake various development projects and ensure that these are implemented to agreed timescales.
• Provide input on the design for the larger more complex projects.
• Ensure that development standards and conventions are adhered to throughout all projects.
• Mentor other members of the team.
• To contribute to the continual effort to improve processes
• To take an active role in moving legacy software onto new platforms
• To be involved in testing and release of software
• To support existing systems including the investigation of complex business issues,
• To develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of core systems and processes, and how those systems and processes interact.
