Seeking an Engineer to join the Intel Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group team to validate Firmware & Hardware on the next generation of Intel's industry-leading Solid State Drives (SSDs).

Responsibilities include:

  • Development and debug of system-level validation software, SSD testing at the system level and debug of test failures using firmware tracing tools and protocol analyzers.
  • Working closely with internal teams such as Product Engineering and Firmware Development to drive resolution of firmware, controller, and system bugs.
  • Drive improved validation methodologies and automated testing within the team.
  • This job requires an independently responsible team member and a self-starter with excellent technical, planning, and collaboration skills who is motivated to complete ambiguous and sometimes path-finding tasks with little to no direction, delivering quality test results in a timely manner.

Non-Volatile Solutions Memory Group: The Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a worldwide organization that delivers NAND flash memory products for use in Solid State Drives (SSDs), portable memory storage devices, digital camera memory cards, and other devices. The group is responsible for NVM technology design and development, complete Solid State Drive (SSD) system hardware and firmware development, as well as wafer and SSD manufacturing.

Desired profile

Qualifications

Education:

BS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 5+ years of industry experience or a MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years of industry experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years working with SSDs in validation and/or firmware development.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development using Python and/or C/C++

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SSD architecture, firmware algorithms, SSD functionality and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of PCIe and/or SATA bus protocols a plus.
