Job Description

The Intel Fortran Team is looking for excellent, dedicated, team-focused developers to enhance our existing, industry-leading compilers and runtime libraries across a wide range of operating systems, and to build a brand new set of innovative, LLVM-based Fortran compilers. These compilers are helping Intel expand the capabilities of High Performance Computing around the globe.

Your day-to-day responsibilities might include developing and maintaining innovative and standards-compliant features in our existing Fortran front-end and runtime library, designing and building a new LLVM middle-end, working closely with back-end engineers to improve compiler optimization and parallelization, and working with customer support engineers to keep our customers happy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work on a world-class team to investigate and address new technical challenges, with excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.


Inside this Business Group

The Platform Engineering Group (PEG) is responsible for the design, development, and production of system-on-a-chip (SoC) products that go into Intel's next generation client and mobile platforms. PEG strives to lead the industry moving forward through product innovation and world class engineering.

Desired profile

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Fluency in C/C++ (our development languages)
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, or Mac OS (our most popular development platforms)
  • Familiarity with compiler technology and Fortran

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with runtime libraries and LLVM (the back-end for our new compiler)
  • Course work or experience working on compiler-related or system-level software
