Intel is offering a unique opportunity for motivated researchers in the area of parallel and distributed computing. This will entail true co-design of leading-edge, large-scale applications in fields like graph analytics and AI and advanced HW/SW systems. The objective is to deliver significant advances in performance and energy efficiency. This is a full-time position with the advanced pathfinding team within Intel's Data Center group DCG.
In this position, you will be responsible for conceiving, researching, and prototyping new parallel and distributed computing algorithms and frameworks. Special emphasis will be on machine learning and graph analytics, and you will develop relevant software and hardware technologies which convert these into products and fuel Intel's growth. You will work in close collaboration with leading academic and industry partners to accomplish our mission. You will use your strong knowledge of scientific principles to identify and research promising technologies typically 3-5 years prior to product development.
You must have a good understanding of state-of-the-art techniques in parallel computing, machine learning, distributed computing, and optimization of algorithms, complemented by a strong understanding of computer architecture.
You must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work in a demanding team-oriented environment.

Desired profile
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a relevant discipline
- 1-2 years of experience in the development of parallel and distributed computing algorithms and/or frameworks
- 1-2 years of experience in parallel programming
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in research related to high-performance sparse computations e.g., graphs, matrices, or tensors
- 1 year of experience in research related to machine learning, optimization, or a related topic
