Intel is searching for a self-motivated degree student to join the GCP (GNSS Core and Products) team for a 12 month internship to help with the design, development and testing of its core GNSS and Assisted-GNSS software intellectual property. The team is responsible for developing solutions for Intel's range of GNSS products primarily focused at mobile device markets.
This activity requires close interactions with GCP development teams in software and algorithm development groups and well as RF design teams and others.
The internship will be based at Intel's site in Daventry, UK and will be for duration of 12 months.
1.Learn use of Intel systems and software to aid in activity during the internship, with particular focus on GNSS (Global Navigation satellite System) system testing using real-world, recorded data.
2.Test of new software versions developed for the Intel GNSS software and analysis of results.
3.Work closely with Intel teams in Daventry to understand requirements for testing using recorded GNSS data.
4.Enhancement and porting of Intel test software scripts into an executable form, for example running in high level language ('C').
5.Critical analysis of diagnostic data from simulator output from field testing of Assisted-GNSS reference designs and customer designs using these test methods.

Desired profile
Qualifications
Academic background to meet requirements of internship position, for example:
Currently in Bachelor degree level course in subject such as:
o Electronic engineering
o Computer sciences
o Geometrics / GNSS
o Physics
Technical:
o Familiarity with structured analysis/structured design methodology.
o Familiarity with the use of good software methodologies and practices.
o Familiarity with scripting languages and other development tools.
o Some background, or interest in Location Measurement Technologies, preferably satellite based, GPS, GNSS, etc
o Understanding of statistical techniques for error analysis, error detection and elimination.
o Results orientated with a track record in problem solving, lateral thinking and rapid delivery.
o PC Software Programming in higher languages, eg 'C/C++/C#, VB, Java, etc '.
Desirable:
o Familiarity with MS Visual Studio, with GUI experience helpful.
o Familiarity with embedded real-time operating systems.
o Use of Matlab.
People and Business:
o Ability to work autonomously as well as a member of a small team (2-10 people) essential.
o Good communication skills
o Quality documentation & status reporting
o The ability to manage workload to deliver results on time
