Develops and tests Engineering Design Automation tools, creates flows/scripts to analyze and test design methodologies. Specifies materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects. Evaluates vendor practical capabilities to provide required products or services. Responsible for designing, deploying and testing efficiency of tools to utilize in achieving design goals and collaborating with design teams on methodology development. Design Automation Engineers are advocates of applying design methodologies to help execute projects effectively and successfully with high quality.The Foundry Design Kit (FDK) group within the Intel Custom Foundry organization is looking for qualified Design Automation (DA) candidates to develop, validate/QA and support Intel Custom Foundry Process Design Kit (PDK) collateral and kit releases to foundry customers. Primary responsibilities will focus on the development and support of portions of the PDK collateral in one or more of the following areas: simulation models, synthesis, Layout, parasitic extraction, physical design verification (runsets), fill, Library, reliability analysis, etc. It may also include development of active and passive semiconductor components and translating specifications into circuit requirements. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing and possibly developing comprehensive QA coverage and testing of the collateral across multiple process technologies, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools/flows and platforms to ensure high-quality delivery of kit content to customers.

- Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

1) Development and support of Process Design Kit collateral

2) Development and support of QA tests written in a Linux-based QA tool/system

3) Running, monitoring, and reporting out QA results

4) Working closely with other collateral developers to resolve customer issues and bugs found with custom PDK collateral.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

Minimum of:
- 1 year of experience in Unix Scripting, use of EDA vendor tools (Candence Virtuoso, EDI, PVS, QRC, ADE, Ultrasim)
- 1 year of experience in Synopsys Custom Designer, ICC, ICV, StarRC, SAE or Hspice.
- 1 year of experience in GDSII databases, DRC/LVS, Mentor Calibre and Revision Control Systems.
- 1 year of experience with programming languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl and/or C/C++ in a Unix/Linux environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with EDA such as SPICE netlists, design simulations or verification.
- Basic understanding of web development including HTML, PHP, jQuery, Javascript and MySQL.
- Experience with IC Design, using digital or analog IC flows.
