Internship SI-PI simulation (f/m)
Praktikum Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe) Energy / Materials / Mechanics
Job description
Job Description
Responsibilities and duties:
During the internship, your responsibilities will include typical CAD design simulation tasks:
· Work with HW System Engineering and CAD teams to simulate signal- (SI) and power-integrity (PI) for automotive reference designs.
· Create and execute SI/PI simulation plans. Perform SI/PI analysis for silicon IO buffers, different packages and board designs. Solve SI/PI problems and provide potential solutions and/or trade-offs.
· Generate and validate models to be used in SI/PI simulations. The models include package, via, trace, cable, connector, etc.
· Support some of the actual CAD simulation research areas by e.g.
· evaluating coherences between layout changes in trace width or dielectrics and summarize the according impacts to signal integrity as visible e.g. in eye diagrams.
· evaluating impedance variations or discontinuities along VIA's on high-speed I/O's like DDR, PCIe, SATA interfaces.
· exploring potential validation strategies for high-speed interfaces by using equalizing algorithms.
· supporting the co-development of adjustable average models for switch mode power supplies.
