Field Application Engineer for Automotive (ID: I0044)

Job description

1. This is a commissioned sales position, responsible for leading Design Win for new automotive business opportunities in Japan car OEMs and Tier 1 customers. Also responsible for managing design-ins for project execution after design- wins. Covering Japan nationwide accounts for developing new business by promoting our IoT transportation solutions, such as autonomous driving/ software defined Cockpit/ connected transportation logistics. Autonomous driving needs high performance computing in cars and needs to connect to cloud data centers. Drive Intel's IoT/ Cloud vision by developing automotive business.

2. Responsible for giving product presentations to customers, describing how Intel products provide the optimum solutions to their application.

3. Develop a clear understanding of Intel's business practices, including pricing, forecasting, and terms and conditions, distribution, and business code of ethics.

4. During customer's product design phase, take responsibility of designing assistance including on-site visits to review designs, to examine customers' problems and provide suggestions on optimal ways by using Intel solutions.

5. Manage relationships between Intel and customers by establishing relationships with key leaders. Identify and develop new opportunities within accounts. Give product demonstrations and execute benchmarks to show product capabilities and ease of use.

6. Understand competitor's strengths and weaknesses relative to the appropriate technical strategy.

7. Communicate strategies to appropriate field and factory personnel to obtain required support and coordination.

8. Assist customers throughout entire development cycles to ensure successful completion of products. Provide timely feedback to the factory on product and strategy issues to ensure the Intel is capable of responding to and/or anticipating changes needed to maintain success.

9. Provide training and account strategic support for distributors. Requires thorough knowledge of business practices and procedures in order to perform non repetitive, analytical work. Provide solutions to a wide range of challenging issues.

Desired profile

- The candidate should have a MS or BS degree in Electrical/ Computer Engineering or Computer Science with over 3-5 years of experience in engineering or applications support.
- Fluent in both English and Japanese to face with Japanese customers.
- Knowledge of Intel architecture based platforms
- Knowledge Intel's IoT TSD roadmap and strategies (Autonomous/SDC /CTL )
- Profound knowledge of automotive market and customers
- Posses technical acumen for deep technical discussion with customers
- Skills of hardware and software customer design support
- Have strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Have strong leadership skills to manage design-win activities
- Have ability to manage issues on both technical and business sides
- Have ability to identify customer problems and provide solutions
