A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group, is a challenging and rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in design and test of IC and module products for the next generation of Solid State Drives (SSDs).
As a member of our Systems Engineering team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting high-performance SSD projects.
The embedded system development positions for this listing is as follows: Embedded Systems Engineering Co-op, XBT Team.
The XBT team is responsible for internal development of proprietary systems used for the testing of nonvolatile memory for Intel Solid State Drives (SSDs). We are a small, cross functional team and build a complete embedded test platform. This includes hardware, software, and FPGA.
There are several projects available and, as such, the student will have an opportunity to choose the primary technical area to focus on during their Co-op term.
Regardless of primary focus, students are expected to interact closely with all technical areas in order to integrate their work and ensure system quality. This will ensure a good high level understanding of the system.
We are looking for students with communication and interpersonal skills to work on a team, problem solving ability, a desire to learn and skills on embedded systems, digital design, software/firmware development and testing methodology.

Non-Volatile Solutions Memory Group: The Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group is a worldwide organization that delivers NAND flash memory products for use in Solid State Drives (SSDs), portable memory storage devices, digital camera memory cards, and other devices. The group is responsible for NVM technology design and development, complete Solid State Drive (SSD) system hardware and firmware development, as well as wafer and SSD manufacturing.

Qualifications
You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly. This Canadian position is open to Canadian Workers Only. A Canadian Worker is someone who is either a Canadian Citizen, Canadian National, Canadian Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the Canadian Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position. Minimum Requirements: Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Physics, or similar. Minimum of 3 months experience with: C Programming Object Oriented Concepts. Linux experience Preferred Qualifications: Digital Logic Design VHDL, Verilog Embedded Concepts Scripting Bash, Python Job assignments will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student.
