Job description

Job Description: Intel's 14nm and newer technologies require manipulation of vast amounts of data from processing and test of the finished product to manage yields. The yield departments at our manufacturing facilities critically rely on data scientists and applications developers to deliver analytical tools providing guidance for yields. A strong background in database systems and applications development is required; however, almost equally important is some background or exposure to the physics of semiconductor manufacturing processes and the products being tested (typically SoC or CPU). A major component to success in this effort is a cross-disciplinary understanding of the meaning behind the data.

The responsibilities of this position will include:
-Development of tools to efficiently analyze test and process data streams for systematic issues. Emphasis for this position will be on novel Analysis Tool capability development.
-Statistical data analysis of product and process metrics to improve overall product yield, quality, and reliability, and speed product Time to Market (TTM).
-Some degree of interaction with test engineers and content experts to define and validate content as it relates to the output data streams being analyzed. Knowledge of the product architectures and defects under test will therefore be helpful.
-Due to the cross-disciplinary nature of this position, it is expected that the candidate has demonstrated a high competency to 'self-teach' and learn/adapt quickly in areas outside of central specialization. Will be required to understand customer needs, then develop scalable, reliable and robust software for high volume manufacturing environment, capable of both real-time and batch data processing.

Desired profile

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Ideal candidates would also have work experience developing database applications, especially in the semiconductor industry or related fields.

Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD in one of these areas: applied math/statistics or computer science/engineering with 3 years' work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Knowledge of Machine Learning is a plus.

-Work-related project experience with (or at least some exposure) to the following are extremely desirable: JMP and JSL scripting; Python; Perl; SAS; C/C#; SQL; relational database structure and usage; analytics packages (i.e. R, Mahout, Matlab, Octave, and Weka). --Knowledge in areas of machine learning, Cloud based technologies, Big Data technologies (i.e. Hadoop , HBase, Lucene/Solr) will be helpful to aid in development of efficient and reliable tools.-Work experience developing database applications, especially in the semiconductor industry or related fields.

Make every future a success.
