Job Description
This position is for 5G Infrastructure Platform Application Engineer (PAE) in Network Platform Group (NPG), providing 5G infrastructure wireless software solution enabling and technical support on Intel Architecture (IA) products to key Telecommunication Equipment Manufacturers (TEM) and other valuable customers. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Handling Intel NPG 5G infrastructure wireless software building blocks and other key platform building blocks, including Data-Plane Development Kit (DPDK), QuickAssist Technology (QAT), Virtualization/SDN/NFV technologies, etc., and to be the expert of them
- Supporting customers on code migration in new IA designs or migrating from other processor architectures to IA platform under Linux and virtualization environment, with porting Linux drivers, middleware, application software to IA and necessary performance benchmarking and tuning
- Working closely with customers to understand their software issues on using Intel IA processor and platforms and address the solution to solve these issues
- Providing technical training to customers on Intel IA technologies, handling and ramping up customer engineers in using Intel software building blocks, software tools, and helping customers to utilize the advantages of Intel IA and tune the performance
- Working together with Intel NPG 5G infrastructure marketing and engineering teams on internal tasks, including Proof of Concept (PoC) and demo setup, performance benchmarking aligning with customer requirements, and feedback customers' requests to influence NPG's 5G wireless infrastructure software building blocks' roadmap
- Delivering technical training to SMG to have them well equipped on technical, also providing backend technical support to SMG's Technical Sales Engineers in their customer designs using NPG 5G infrastructure roadmap

Qualifications

- You should possess a Master or a Bachelor of Science degree in Software, Computer, Electronic or Communication Engineering or relevant studies with more than 5 years of working experience in system software design.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel and driver development with more than 3 years of relevant development experience on Linux
- Good knowledge on general processor micro-architecture, i.e. instruction, pipeline, cache, memory
- Good knowledge on Network and Communication system architecture, applications and protocols. Specific knowledge on Router/Switch, Wireless Access/Edge/Core, Network Security, and/or Cloud Computing, Enterprise Network will be big value add
- Good knowledge on Virtualization Technologies will be a big value add
- Good knowledge on SDN/NFV with work experiences will be a big value add
- Capable to provide on-site technical support to customers on software, including OS and/or driver, middleware and application software, code migration, tuning, benchmarking, and debugging
- Preferred: Expert of Intel IA software with more than 3 years software development experiences on IA, familiarity with Intel software tools, performance benchmarking and tuning technique
- Good communication skills with people and good sense of team work
- Ability to work independently, be proactive, multitask effectively.
