Stage de Master 2 - Biologie H/F
Stage Fontenay-aux-Roses (Hauts-de-Seine)
Job description
The goal of this Masters-2 internship project will be to perform experimental validation of a radiation adverse outcome pathway (AOP-483). This goal will be achieved via the following specific tasks: a) analysis of transcriptional profiles (RNA-seq) of cells exposed to ionizing radiation; b) identify altered cellular pathways and biological functions using the generated RNA-seq dataset and bioinformatics analyses tools; 3) relate results to Key Events (KE) of a chosen radiation AOP to determine the validity of KE; 4) carry out additional experiments to measure relevant parameters, such as cell death, secretion of inflammatory cytokines and functional decline, using various assays, such as immunofluorescence microscopy, ELISA, RT-qPCR, western blotting. The results will contribute to better understanding of the mechanisms of the effects of ionizing radiation on the brain function and will inform the system of radiological protection for better risk assessment.
The work will be carried out in the Experimental Radiotoxicology and Radiobiology Laboratory (LRTOX) at Fontenay-aux-Roses. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dmitry KLOKOV (LRTOX).>
Desired profile
Applicants should have experience and knowledge in cell and molecular biology and bioinformatics. Previous laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture, immunofluorescence microscopy, PCR and western blotting will be considered as advantage. Candidates should be able to demonstrate interest in science, motivation for results, work and time organization skills, and the ability to work in a team. Proficiency in English will be a plus.
